Welcome to the Capitol

There are a lot of surprises in Washington. You see images on TV, but until you visit, it doesn’t all seem to connect. Which monument is where and the relationship of the museums and such. As we walked down the National Mall towards the Capitol Building, I discovered a large pool at the base between the street and the building. This large statue looks out towards the Mall in front of the pool, welcoming visitors.
